August 3, 2017 by andrew Leave a Comment

Learn about The Internet of Twizzlers

This week on the Internet of Things Podcast, Stacey Higginbotham and Kevin Tofel talk about news from Defcon, efforts to hack the Amazon Echo and give their take on the Senate’s new IoT security bill. (Hint: they’re not that impressed.) They also cover the week’s big news of the Wink platform getting sold to Will.i.am, Eero’s new employees and $50 million for TrackR, the Bluetooth-based tracking company.

In the guest segment, Stacey talks with Sam George of Microsoft. George heads up the Azure IoT Platform. He and Stacey talk about where the IT world stops and the real world begins, the right architectures for the edge and Microsoft’s stance on cybersecurity. You’ll also learn about the Internet of Twizzlers. Listen here:
