This week on The Internet of Things Podcast, host Stacey Higginbotham speaks with Michael Sherwood, Director of Technology and Innovation City of Las Vegas, about plans for a traffic light that detects pollution and can send cars along before it builds up, and what it really means to build a smart city. Sherwood shares a lot of good insights about the challenges of building a smart city that we don’t often see.
Also, co-host Kevin Tofel reviews the Wink Lookout security bundle. Plus: Google’s new AI framework for embedded devices, the push by smart home and lock companies to give delivery or service people access to your home, and SmartThings gets local control for some devices this week.

Good day,
I enjoy listening to your Podcast while training in the gym. It is fantastic!
Regarding your last answer for a voicemail from Hugo (from Montreal), I am interested by the Wise Camera (not sure if it is spelled this way) but I am unable to find it on the web. Would you be able to send me a link to the manufacturer or a resaler ?
Thank you for your help!
Ralph (form Montreal as well :-))
Stacey, an excellent interview with Mike, as always I listen like so many to your podcast as I walk with my dog Barley, or driving to my University. I am teaching a module on Smart Cities, so this episode was just perfect and it’s now part of my slide. So much so, I am researching the City of Las Vagas to find more, so any links you might have or access to mike would be great.
